Dr. Laura Williams graduated from the University of Florida, College of Veterinary Medicine in 1989 and has been in private clinical practice since that time. Special interests include emergency critical care medicine, alternative medicine, and equine performance medicine. She holds advanced certification in Veterinary Acupuncture and is certified by the American Veterinary Chiropractic Association in animal chiropractic.
Currently Dr. Williams and her business partner own and practice at two busy critical care emergency hospitals in North Florida. Dr. Williams continues her equine performance consulting practice, and divides her time between her farms in Florida and North Carolina.
Dr. Diane Johnson received her BS degree from University of California, Santa Barbara in 1991. After completing her undergraduate studies, she attended Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine where she received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 1994.
Dr. Johnson initially practiced in California, and then moved to Virginia where she practiced emergency and critical care medicine at a 24 hour specialty veterinary hospital. In 2000, she accepted a position as the medical director of a new emergency facility in Jacksonville, FL.
In April 2005, Dr. Johnson and Dr. Williams opened the Animal Emergency Hospital of St. Johns County in St. Augustine, FL. One year later the partners opened their second emergency critical care veterinary hospital, Animal Emergency Hospital-Volusia located in Holly Hill, FL.
Dr. Johnson has had a special interest in emergency critical care medicine throughout her career. Other areas of interest include the use of ultrasound in emergency critical care practice, and surgery. Dr. Johnson has 4 pets. Her three dogs survived a variety of medical conditions to end up in the Johnson household. Her 24 year old cat, Katie, has been with her since before veterinary school.
Dr. Lawrence Wallace graduated from Tuskegee University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1974. After graduation, he served as a Captain in the Army Veterinary Corps and served as OIC of Veterinary Services for Ft. Bragg, NC.
Upon completing his service to the country in 1976, he relocated to Jacksonville, FL. He has been in private clinical practice in the Jacksonville area since that time. Dr. Wallace owns and breeds champion English Bulldogs and enjoys boating, motorcycles, and football.
Dr. Lenice McCoy received her doctorate in veterinary medicine from Ross University in 2006. Prior to attending veterinary school, Dr. McCoy had a vibrant career in the human medical imaging field. This previous experience has translated into an interest in advanced veterinary imaging techniques. She is currently pursuing advanced training in veterinary ultrasound.
Dr. McCoy spends her free time with her human and canine family members, as well as their two horses. Extracurricular interests include midcentury and modern architecture and design.
Dr. Kristen Jones was born and raised in Jacksonville, FL. She received her undergraduate degree from UNF in 2005. She graduated from Ross University, School of Veterinary Medicine in 2009. Dr Jones joins the Animal Emergency Hospital staff, returning to the emergency medicine field that she enjoyed as a technician prior to veterinary school. She has a special interest in emergency and critical care, and surgery. Dr Jones spends her free time with her close family and pets.
